Celebrating everything: National Day, HoliDay, MakanDay!

1st day of the long weekend: We started with a magnificent thunderstorm at 5.30 am – red skies and rain-lashed winds. Then a walk by the bay, followed by breakfast of stir-fried Chee Cheong Fun (carrot cake style) and an icy Ribena, in the heartland of the East, Marine Terrace Market .

For afternoon tea – some lemper ayam (chicken cooked in spicy coconut milk, stuffed into glutinous rice and steamed in banana leaves) – from a Singapore establishment in Nonya kueh, Lina Confectionary.

About Mizdee

Food, food, food. Apart from love, it's the other thing that makes the world go round. When I'm sad it's a comfort, when I'm happy it's a celebration and when I'm not hungry, it's just greediness. But hey! Why not? Life is short too pass up a good meal.
